The Board of School Education, Ajmer, Rajasthan (BSER), has made available the 2024-25 RBSE 11th Biology Syllabus PDF on its official website. The Rajasthan Board 11th Class Biology examination will have both a theoretical and a practical component. The total marks for this examination amount to 100, with 70 marks allocated for the theory paper and the rest 30 will be allotted for praticals. Within the theory paper, 56 marks pertain to the theoretical examination, while 14 marks are allotted for other sessional assessments. The practical examination has a weightage of 30 marks. To successfully pass the examination, you must achieve the minimum passing marks in both the theory and practical papers. RBSE Class 11 Biology Practical Syllabus

Without having the practical knowledge of Biology, one can’t imagine becoming a doctor. Therefore, students of Rajasthan Board should start giving importance to practicals and projects from class 11th. Also, practicals play an equally important role in Biology as a theory. That’s why the Board of Secondary Education Rajasthan allocated 30 marks to the Biology practicals. Have a look at the details of RBSE Class 11th Biology Practical Syllabus below. List of experiments and observations are given:

Section A: List of Experiments
1. Fabaceae, Study and descries two locally available common flowering plants from each of the following families (Solanaceae and Liliaceae).
2. Preparation and study of T.S. of dicot and monocot roots and stems (primary).
3. Study of distribution of stomata on the upper and lower surface of leaves.
4. Study of osmosis by potato osmometer.
5. Separate plant pigments through paper chromatography.
6. Study of plasmolysis in epidermal peels (e.g. Rhoeo leaves).
7. To study the rate of respiration in flower buds and germinating seeds.
8. Comparative study of the rates of transpiration in the upper and lower surfaces of leaves.
9. To study effect of salivary analyse on starch.
10. Test for the presence of sugar, starch, protein and fats. To detect them in suitable plant and animal materials.
11. To test the presence of sugar and albumin in urine.
12. To test the presence of urea, bile salts in urine.
13. types of root (tap or adventitious), stem (herbaceous/woody), leaf (arrangement/shapes/venation/simple or compund).

B. Study/observation of the following (spotting)
1. Study parts of a compound microscope.
2. Study of the specimens and identification with reason-Bacteria, Oscillatoria, Spirogyra, Rhizopus, Mushrooom, Yeast, Liverwort, Moss, Fern, Pines, one monocotyledon and one dicotyledon and one lichen. (Any eight)
3. Study of specimens and identification with reasons- Amoeba, Hydra, Liverfluke, Ascaris, Leech, Earthworm, Prawn, Silkworm, Honeybee, Snail, Starfish, Shark, Rohu, Frog, Lizard, Pigeon and Rabbbit. Study and identify different type of inflorescences. (Any ten)
4. Study of tissues and diversity in shapes and sizes of plant and animal cells (e.g. palisade cells, guard cells, parechyma, collenchyma, selenchyma, xyle, phloem, squamous epi theilum, muscle fibres and mammalian blood smear) through temporary/permanent slides.
5. Study of mitosis in onion root tip cells and animals cells (grasshopper) from permanent slides.
6. Study of different modifications in root, stem and leaves.
8. Study of imbibition in seeds/raisins.
9. Observation and comments on the experimental set up on :
(a) Aneaobic respiration (b) Phototropism
(c) Apical bud removal (d) Suction due to transpiration
10. To study human skeleton and different types of joints.
11. To study of morphology of earthworm, cockroach and frog through models/preserved specimens.
