Question.
What are the advantages of connecting electrical devices in parallel with the battery instead of connecting them in series.
What are the advantages of connecting electrical devices in parallel with the battery instead of connecting them in series.
solution:
(a)In case of devices in parallel, if one device gets damaged (or open), all others will work as usual as the whole circuit does not break. This is not so with the devices connected in series because when one device fails, the circuit breaks and all devices stop working.
(b)Since potential difference across all devices is same in parallel circuit, they will draw required current according to their resistances. This is not so in series circuit where same current flows through all the devices, irrespective of their resistances.
