Solution:

$\mathrm{CO}_{2}+\mathrm{H}_{2} \mathrm{O} \rightarrow \mathrm{H}_{2} \mathrm{CO}_{3}$

$\mathrm{C}+\mathrm{H}_{2} \mathrm{O}($ steam $) \rightarrow \mathrm{CO}+\mathrm{H}_{2}$

$\left.\begin{array}{c}\mathrm{CH}_{4}+\mathrm{H}_{2} \mathrm{O} \rightarrow \mathrm{CO}+3 \mathrm{H}_{2} \\ \mathrm{C}_{3} \mathrm{H}_{8}+\mathrm{H}_{2} \mathrm{O} \rightarrow 3 \mathrm{CO}+\mathrm{H}_{2}\end{array}\right] \begin{gathered}\text { both reactions are carried out at } \\ 1270 \mathrm{~K} \text { temp. with Ni catalyst }\end{gathered}$

Thus $\mathrm{CO}_{2}$ does not produce $\mathrm{CO}$.
