The domain and range of the function f(x)

Question:

The domain and range of the function $f(x)=\frac{2-x}{x-2}$ are _______ and ___________respectively.

Solution:

$f(x)=\frac{2-x}{x-2}$

f(x) is defined for x − 2 ≠ 0

i.e  ≠ 2

∴ Domain of f(x) is R −{2}

Since

$f(x)=-\frac{(x-2)}{x-2}$

f(x) = −1

∴ Range of f(x) is {−1}
