The angles of a triangle are

Question:

The angles of a triangle are (x − 40°),(x − 20°) and (12x − 10°). Find the value of x.

Solution:

Given that,

The angles of a triangle are

(x − 40°),(x − 20°) and (1/2x − 10°)

We know that,

Sum of all angles of triangle is 180°

∴ (x − 40°) + (x − 20°) + (1/2x − 10°) = 180°

2x + 1/2x − 70° = 180°

5/2 x = 180° + 70°

5x = 2(250)°

x = 500°/5

∴ x = 100°
