Question:
Solve each of the following equation and also verify your solution:
$\frac{x}{2}-\frac{4}{5}+\frac{x}{5}+\frac{3 x}{10}=\frac{1}{5}$
Solution:
$\frac{x}{2}-\frac{4}{5}+\frac{x}{5}+\frac{3 x}{10}=\frac{1}{5}$
or $\frac{x}{2}+\frac{x}{5}+\frac{3 x}{10}=\frac{1}{5}+\frac{4}{5}$
or $\frac{5 x+2 x+3 x}{10}=\frac{5}{5}$
or $\frac{10 x}{10}=1$
Verification :
L. H.S. $=\frac{1}{2}-\frac{4}{5}+\frac{1}{5}+\frac{3}{10}$
$=\frac{5-8+2+3}{10}=\frac{1}{5}=$ R. H.S.
