(x + y)(2x + 5) − (x + y)(x + 3)

Solution:

We have:

$(x+y)(2 x+5)-(x+y)(x+3)=(x+y)\{(2 x+5)-(x+3)\}$

$=(x+y)(2 x+5-x-3)$

$=(x+y)(x+2)$
