- Solution of a linear equation: The value of the variable which when substituted in place of variable makes both sides of the given equation equal, is called the solution of given equation. These values of variables is also known as root of the equation.
- Linear equation in two variables: A linear equation in two variables is a first degree equation which can be written in the form ax + by + c – 0 and a, b both are non-zero real number. Where a, b and c are real numbers. Examples: 3x + 2y – 9 = 0 and 7x – 4y + 6 = 0
